Batteries loose power after parked a while

Ever since I have owned my truck the batteries have been a problem to keep charged.

Last weekend I purchased a digital Amp meter and today I checked the loads on my batteries.

After parked overnight, the current draw from the batteries is 3.92 amps.
The load is shared equally by both batteries.

The drain occures on the power to cab line from ther driver side battery.

Later I will remove fuses one by one and check where the load occures.

Anyone had the same problem, and what could be creating the load.

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS METER YEARS AGO.

your on the right path with your testing ! i have read about this ,, but I can't remember what the culprit was

Also undo both batt. from each other and test them by them self. You could have a batt. going bad.

Pull the relay for the inline fuel heater relay#303, it's a good chace that the problem.

I was thinking he did that ,, only because he states what bat the drain is at ?

I just checked the loads at each battery cable

just out and did some checks again, the GPS takes a load of .2 Amp and I have it set to on all the time unless I manually shut it off.

The trailer brake controler takes .1 Amp

All disconnected I still have a drain of .6 Amps.

I will check when a clock on the overhead monitor for the GPS times out because its set on the dome light power timer.

Found out that the dome light must have been taking power it takes 2.1 amps when on.

Looks much better then this morning

OH removed the relay 303 and no change.

I'm still tracking down my problem....

So far (as best as I can tell) its one of my fused auxillary wires. I de-fused my wires one day...let it set over night and the battery drain seemed to go away. Are you using a load tester? I went to bumper-to-bumper and they used one that they also had for sale for $33. So far I have somewhat ruled out two of the three auxillary wires. Unless they are not the issue or they ar just not grounding out right now:dunno The guy at bumper-to-bumper showed me a test light I can use to see if I had a short in the system....looks like a screw driver with a lead coming off of it. Not sure if he was trying to sell me something or if it really worked.
