buying 2006 F250XLT SD...engine questions...

I have read and heard problems with 6.0L engines....did they exist in the 2006 model? Anyone have any advice...should I stay away from the 6.0L?

Also considering duramax and cummins, I just love the ford style overall...

The later years of the 6.0 are better than the early years. It is not bomb proof unless you add head studs. I have had no problems other than the usual items, like the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module). Get an Oasis report form your Ford Dealer. Give them the VIN and they can report of all of the work, done by Ford, on the truck.Good Luck.

Hello Sparky and Welcome to SSD.com. I have a early 06 with the 6.0 and it's been a fine truck. It has a 05 engine and it's always done a good job of pulling my 16.000+ fifthwheel. Like Dave said, Get an Oasis report form your Ford Dealer. How many miles are on the truck? Maintenance is the life of a 6.0.
