i think some are confusing COKING (of oil) around the bearings
and SOOT BUILD UP around the vanes on the exhaust (turbine)
side of the turbo.

some of the "issue" is that some have taken cool down to the
extreme....idling TOO long (w/ an EGR & VGT based system) can
cause soot build up.

touche!

coking of bearings has not been as frequent as EGR/VGT clogging . since the OP said the turbo was sticking, i read it to mean that the vanes were clogged.

i did not mean to single anyone out, nothing personal.

cool down is important- think long highway driving and stopping at a rest stop or for a burger. that kind of immediate shutdown is what you want to avoid.

oil tech has come a long way, but just be mindful of your turbo.

gauges- depends on if its pre-turbo or post turbo.
