I have a 2008 Superduty with the in-dash cup holder (pull in down 90 degrees from the instrument panel and the expandable cup holders pop-out.
Anyhow, I'm looking to transform this useless cup holder (already have two (2) holder in the arm rest), into a meaningful but small storage location (ie. GPS).
How the he*l do you get this thing to come free from the IP ? There are a few easily accessible fasteners, but it appears that the whole lower IP section (below the upfitter/tow command) will need to be removed to access the remaining fasteners ? Anyone with experience or service manual that can advise ?
Ideally, I would love to simply remove the expandable cup holder feature but it seems to be a molded-in meaning I'd have to cut it free, making a huge mess.
Thoughts ?
