dash vent on passenger side

Has anyone removed this vent? The little plastic bit that controls movement of the vent has fallen off on the inside. I tried lightly prying it out, but began to mark the dash.

Does anyone know how to take this one out? Do I have to unbolt this side of the dash? What about the air bag?
