I'm thinking about getting a DP-Tuner pcm with the 80hp Econo flash. Would like to hear from people that are running this tune about the power, shifting and mpg gain.

I was running a Diablo 90HP/180TQ chip prior to my DP 6 Position PMT1 chip. I pretty much leave my truck in the 80 HP Econo position for daily driving and towing.

It feels just as strong, if not stronger, than my old chip. The big plus is that my EGT's have really dropped with the DP tuned chip. It's amazing how Jody can keep the EGT's under control and produce the power he does.

You won't regret getting one of Jody's chips. My 6 position is setup for stock, high idle, 80HP econo, 40HP tow, 120HP, 140HP.

Give Jody a call and talk to him. He's easy to talk with and the more info you can give him on how you use your truck and the mods it has the better job he can do setting up your chip.

I love Jody's work. Go for it, but I would suggest gettin a chip rather than flashed PCM. Just so ya can play around and put them dang ricer burners in their place!! LOL.

I went with the PCM for two reasons:

#1: I have an early 99. Beginning w/ 99.5 they put a better PCM in, like upgrading your old 486 to a Pentium. The better PCM allows better control of the engine, plus now my little green light comes on when I engage the cruise control.:thumbs

#2: You can get your PCM reflashed for a lot less than buying a chip. :thumbs

I had Jodys older economy setting before I had it updated and for the week or so that I ran with no chip my mileage dropped 4-5 mpg. I tow with mine, but for large heavy loads I run in the tow mode.

Hey Tail Gunner, Thats a good point I'll give ya that. I have an early 99 as well ( with a 99.5 PCM hehe ) Which is why I went with the chip. Probably could have done it cheaper with just the PCM flash, but I wanted variety. Hehe.

Thanks for the replies. They are what I expected from Jody's tunes. The new pcm would be to replace my stock one since somebody stole my tuner. :cussing: I like variety too so maybe a chip will be in my future but for now the pcm fits the budget. I just couldn't stand to go back to stock.
