yep on your 2k truck there is a wire harness under your drivers seat that punches through the floor.
look under the truck and there is a big connector, in it it the wire that feeds the running lights to the rear, splice in there or the back of the connector.
there is aslo a feed for the cab lights in that connector, its a dead end wire.
been a while so icant remeber exactly which wire but i believe its brown with a grn tracer, but check and make sure before you cut anything. I would hate to know i caused a wrong wire cut.

I would look on my 06 but they moved all the wires to the frame

hey Joe, where and what did ya give for the LED studs, pm me if ya like. I was thinking of that route, or some thin led's for mine. I took the runnin boards off mine, so I will be installing on the pinch / drip rail. Like this:

One more thing, I see you are as LED - Clear Lense crasy as me, I'm thinking of installing these on the runnin boards too. They are license plate white LED's that I would put on the dome light to light the step at night. Like this:

I have CARR brand aluminum hoop steps on the rig now (sprayed black with spray in liner), as they make my two wheel drive look to sit higher than those plastic oem running boards. I plan on putting these center of the hoop steps, and even if they do not light the step (which they may not) they will at least light the ground and everything around them so you can see where to step. I do plan on mounting them outside the truck on the "pinch weld" that the oem running boards mount to. Bryan

Bryan & WD (All),

I got these at www.superbrightleds.com. They look like a SS 5/8" bolt head or Cap nut, they have about a 3/8" LED in the center. (full gouge on the web site) They mount with a 3/4"L X 1/4" dia. threaded shaft (I'm giving you SAE, everything is MM) and have 30" of hook-up wire, each. Purdy slick, I think. $2.95 each. I got 12 for $40.40, to my door. (in CA)

I'm not one for FLASHY/BRASSY/LOUD, so I took a fine (300grit) sanding block and twisted the LED lense on it... kinda Dulled the lense a bit... defused the light beam. Made'm Bright(ish). Matches the clear (with amber LEDs) dually fender light lenses.:sweet

I, now... don't have a colored light (lense) on my truck, except for the tail lights. I like it. A Clean Look. JMO

I'll install these on Saturday and >hopefully< have Pics and a bit of a "How it Went/ How To" on it. (and Pics of the LED 3rd brake light)

Useing the 5/8 SAE or 17MM .... I don't know if they would mount on the pinch weld.... It would be close tho..... The mounting base/surface is about 9/16s.

JOE

OBW, theses things come in about any color too !!! check'm out on the Web Site.

Well... I got'm on. Put 5 on each side. I like'm. They look like part of the Running Boards. Don't stand out, but they are there.

Purdy strait forward install. Measured the boards, split to total length X5, made a template, driiled the holes, mounted the lights. (Tighter is not better... I snaped one off at it's base) Tapped off of the dually fender lights on each side for 12v, Twisted each pair of light wires together so they made a cleaner "run", light to light. Cut each wire to length so there was'nt extra, at each connection, hooked the lights together in series, gang grounded them all with a sheet metal screw, under the bed, on each side.

:sweet

Batts were dead in the Camera... I'll try and get some Pics tonite.

JOE
