Not a bad idea, depends how deep your pockets are. You can unplug it, or close down whole mess with aftermarket parts. Just type egr removal into the search engine and all the threads should be right there.

if i use the sct, do i still need to block it off with the plate? I wanted a programmer anyway, the oil cooler etc would come later, low on funds, truck was not cheap, had to sell my kid. :)
if its turned off would i still need to remove it all?

A SCT Xcal2 with custom tunes can be programmed to turn the EGR off in the PCM. Keith

i guessing here but that might ONLY be blocking the CODES
that would be generated...AND its more than likely only stopping
the valve from OPENING and CLOSING...

exhaust still flows as does coolant.

imo thats a bandaide at best.

Hows it a bandaid? If you use a block off at the pipe, no exhaust goes in at all? If a tuner redoes the program so it does not need any thing from an egr?
i was almost thinking external oil cooler and remove the factory egr cooler and factory oil cooler and blocking it all off. Must be someway to still cool the oil and not have an egr at all? I dont think i would go that drastic while a under a good warranty but you must be able to?? Just thinking out loud, I guess..??
