Just competed my reg. Running a F 550 crew cab own wheel DRW. 4.88 gears 2013. Got to figure this out before it puts me out of business. I am currently installing a fourth engine not a Ford engine this time. All Ford authorized rebuilds. It starts with a small click in about a week it’s gotten to a knock. Running a 15w 40 Shell Rotella. Ford will not let open the crankcase. Voids warranty. This truck pulls a 53 foot aluminum RV delivery trailer in all 49 states and Canada. These engines cumulative might have 25,000 before this starts. I have also lost two VG turbos on the first two which didn’t help. I now have a after market single turbine turbo. Now since Ford has no more 2011 through 2014 6.7 blocks it now has a 2016 upgraded engine. Same problem clicking then knocked. It has a mild tune to get the turbo calibration back to specs. This I know is an integral problem. I have been told that these have iron powder pressed rods and will not stand much over 450 HP. Boost has never 27 psi on gauge. I am currently going to purchase a Blackwater long block. Would just like to know if when I open old engine what might be so things to look for ect. Piston skirts, rod bearings and so forth. Thanks in advance. Please no smart a— answers. I don’t need em.
