Excursion in dash navigation stereo options??

Hey guys! What are our options for an in dash navigation car stereo and still maintain use of the steering wheel controls and OEM rear DVD system control? Or does such a thing exist? I would like to have a double din touch screen rather than any flip up screen type. Thanks!

Unless I just didn't know what I was looking at, I didn't see anything to allow control of the rear seat DVD system with an aftermarket stereo.

I DIDNT know about if they made a rear seat control interface...what i
DO know is they integrate the factory steering wheel controls w/ ANY
in-dash aftermarket system.

quite honestly i left the rest up to you to look up since i didnt, myself,
know if they did anything for the rear control integration (i have since
found there is an offering)

i DONT competely know how the rear seat controls work... (although i have
a better understanding of it now)...keep reading info follows...

im not sure if exactly what youre trying to achieve...do you want to
keep the rear system and replace the front ? or do you want to replace
the front and have multi control points and 'ZONED' audio/video ?

Pioneer just announced a NEW in dash (double din) "head unit" that
allows you to have TWO disc's in the system @ the same time (one for
nav, one for audio...and possibly dvd/video...but again i dont know
ALL the details).

all that said, while writing this, I have learned that PAC Audio does
integration modules w/ the rear controls...but since im not COMPLETELY
sure what youre desiring i cant offer much more at the moment --> Excursion - rear controls information

I'm mainly wanting an in dash navigation stereo that retains the use of the steering wheel controls (which I knew there was ways of doing) and retain the use of the factory rear DVD system. The same type of control that the factory headunit has over the entire system or at least something close.

I have the Pioneer AVIC-D3. I think there a kit for what your looking to do. Check with Pioneer on that (800) 421-1404. They do have a system with steering wheel controls set up and the DVD just plus into the back of the AVIC-D3.
