I unexpectedly was able to replace my ‘05 F350 6.0 with a used 2026 F450 (19k miles) that I got a great deal on.

I’ve been towing a 40’ 15k lb 5th wheel with the F350, and now, with the 6.7, that will be MUCH easier.

Unfortunately, the 450 did not have a factory brake controller in it.

I’ve been in contact with a local shop that is owned by the same guy that owns a large Ford dealership )and others) to put one in.

What I’m finding is that the factory brake controller is currently not available. I’m told Ford removed it from their supply chain due to a manufacturing defect having something to do with the plug used to connect it to the wiring harness.

I don’t know if that is correct or not, but the bottom line is it’s currently unavailable.

I’m also being told the brake controller “will be available in the supply chain again around Oct 1st, possibly sooner”.

Does anyone else have any info on this?

I’ve been waiting almost a month and I’m getting tired of being stuck at home!

It’s time to go camping!

I also asked AI to “put some shiny gold hot rod flames on it”.

I love the way it looks, but the wife says “No”.☹️

What do you think?
