I don't know why Ford would recall an 11 year old vehicle. If the problem hasn't happened by now, chances are it won't. Look a Toyota's recall, it's including 1989's. Guess they're all nervous about the liability. My oldest son has a 95 F150 4.9L, 5 spd w/cruise control, but he hardly ever uses it.

At least the Excursions are safe :sweet

The voluntary recall covers 1994-2002 Ford F-150s, 1997-2002 Ford Expeditions, 1998-2002 Lincoln Navigators and 1994-1996 Ford Broncos equipped with factory-installed speed control.

And I thought Ford "invented" it. At least got a patent on the "Fingertip Speed Control" they came out with in the early 60s. The "exclusive" rights to it expired a few years ago, now you're seeing GM and Daimler Chrysler products with cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.
