Just registered on the forum. I inherited a 1988 F-250 7.3L four years ago. It only has 37K original miles on it, and was stored in a garage for 15 years with minimal driving. (During the 15 year span I would start it and drive a little when I would visit my mom) when my mom passed 4 years ago I took ownership of the truck through her will. Long story shortened. Ford replaced the fuel lines and “cleaned” the tanks as there was a fuel delivery issue. They recommended I only run off of one tank if I wasn’t driving it much. Bad advise. The front tank rusted badly and a local mechanic advised I replace it. I replaced the front fuel tank and front sending unit, with brand new stuff as the truck wouldn’t run off the front tank. It still will not run off of the front tank when I flip the tank switch from rear to front. My next thought is that maybe the tank switch valve is bad?? Looks like a pain to get to it. Is there a way to test it? Thank you

Could be a blockage in the selector valve. It's not that hard to get to.
You should be able to hear it make a noise when you flip the switch.
