GPR Issue

Have a Friend that has an OBS 7.3....its eating GPRs

He's been installing a <ford> GPR at the rate of one per
year for the last 2 years...this last one only lasted 3 MONTHS !

Is there anything else that could be causing the frequent failure
of the GPRs ? Is there a know cause of GPR Failure in the OBS 7.3...
could the under the valve cover wiring harness cause this ?

could he have a shorted plug thats pulling too many amps through it? maybe?

Could be wiring, valve cover gaskets or bad plugs. A heavy duty Stancor relay may also fix the problem. They are rated for twice what the stock units are.

Stancor 586-902 Available at Gopher Electronics or Mouser Electronics. I think mouser might be cheaper.

One per year on the stock replacement is about norm for the OBS GPR. Tell your friend to do as Crummy suggested and get the Stancor, he'll never replace it again.
