Looking for some ideas/opinions. After the truck has sat for a few days, when I first drive away, I hear a howl that increases as the speed increases. After a quarter mile it is gone and does not return. Any ideas of what would be causing this noise?

WELCOME ABOARD.... segal10

It's your engine's Fan you hear. It's Temperature controlled Clutch engages automatically when the engine is Cold to aid in a faster, initial warm-up.

It's Completely Normal.

It will also Thermally engage (after warm-up), when your engine's temp rises, due to Load or Driving conditions.

Normal operation of fan. My truck sits m-f and when I crank it on the weekend it does the same thing.
