installing a mechanical oil temp gauge

How do I accomplish this? Ports I know of are 1/8 I believe and mechanical oil temp is much larger than this. Somebody help me out that has done this? Thanks. Also, anyone know who sells the adapter plugs for the zf6 speed manual for trans temp sending unit? Cannot find them but I have read about them. Do you get the same readings from both the fill and drain ports?
