Are the tachometer or fuel gage serviceable separately in the cluster? My fuel gage will fall to empty, then after a bit come back. The tachometer may not work at all, or be fine, or stick at any point then just go from there, or Not sometimes showing 4000 rpm. This is my 3rd cluster.

Depending on the year the needles are probably controlled by stepper motors. If you can get to the back of the gauges you should be able to replace them. Provided you can find a part number.

For the fuel gauge it might be wiring or the sending unit. I'm fighting the same issue with the wife's 06 Mustang. It's a known issue that Ford never really fixed. I've replaced both sending units so next is wiring.
