Intermittent wiper issues 2008 SD Fx4

Yesterday I was driving back from Louisiana and I noticed that my wipers were acting funny when I slowed them from max back to intermittent. This morning they worked fine for a little bit but then they messed up again. Now I have the lowest two int. settings and wide open.

Any one else had this problem? I hate that I might have to take it to the frigging dealership.
