A while back I posted that my X during startup either over night or just sitting for a long time would fire up but after a minute of idle it would start to get really loud, sounds like a cummings diesel, and miss pretty bad. If you tried to drive it, it would shake bad, no power at all. You have to turn it off, turn the key on and off two times and restart it and it runs PERFECT. After a few replies from some folks about maybe air being in the system I decided to change the fuel filter and to my surprise it was SUPER tight. I had to practically beat it off with a hammer and screw driver to lossen it. It looked kinda dirty but once I replaced it, viola no more problems. Well its been a few months and Friday it began again so I went down to Autozone and picked up a new filter and I thought that was it, but it has happend just about everytime it sits for a while. So I dont know if its air in the system and if there is air how do I find out where it is. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have a new ICP sensor, should I replace it?

Check your conectors at the valvecovers. They are bad about comming loose or getting dirty.

Which connections?

Bottom right of my picture, yellow wires. There's another set on the other valve cover too.

You can't just check it by pushing around on it. You need to pull the valve covers and inspect both sides. The wires plug into the valve cover gasket and another harness plugs into the other side over the valve cover gasket. This wiring is for the injectors and glow plugs.
Before you do anything I would get some codes pulled. It could really be anything.

okay, so now its gone and the suspect is the.........
fuel filter cap and make sure its REALLY tight or it will slowly get air in it. My dad truck started to do the same thing mine did so he pulled over and sure enough the fuel filter cap was a little loose. Hope this helps for anyone else.
