Can this be changed? I've wanted to fill up at truck pumps before on trips and found I couldn't due to the smaller size opening.

I haven't had a problem filling up at truck stops before. The nozzles are bigger and the pump rate is faster. I like them better because it seems like it cuts my fueling time in half.

The most common method of increasing the opening is to take the metal neck loose and remove the restrictor with a saw of your choice.........Then clean out the metal shavings and reinstall.

I was able to reach in to the neck on mine while it was still on the truck with a pair of tin snips and cut the obstruction in four different places. Then I used a hammer and punch to bend the pieces down.

From the time I start the flow on the big nozzle to when it shuts off is just under 60 seconds.

Takes me longer to top it off than the initial fill. :sweet

3, 8mm screws(?), 2 band clamps, a little wiggle'n and the filler pipe is out/off of yer truck.

A 1"n 5/8s hole saw will cut the whole restrictor out. Wash it out good, with soap'n water, dry it with heat gun (Blow Dryer) re-install. Done Deal.

Whole thing takes about 30 minutes.

"POON" Mod takes a bit longer, but WELL worth the effort.

Takes me about 5 minutes to Top Off..Anywhere.

I used the big hose at a truck stop in Branson, MO.the other night for the first time, and liked it a lot. When it shout off it only took about 15 sec to top it off and I mean running over. I will try one more before I do anything to the neck.

I understand completely except, when the driver gives me the "Jack Nicholson" I give him the "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" I can usually fill up the neck in under 4-5 minutes.

Thanks for all the info. I think I'll remove it and then enlarge the opening.
Do the big truck pumps have auto shutoff?
