Hey everyone, kinda lookin for some advice/help here. Every now and then just driving down the road, my truck will shut off or miss sort of, but just for a split second, never enough to kill the motor. It just causes this huge head bobbing jerk and then everything is fine again. Never have any trouble starting or running. It seems like it usually does it right when im on the throttle pretty good, therefore causing the jerk. I've heard alot about the "CPS", but im pretty sure thats not the problem. I have an '00 7.3 and the only upgrades are a whicked wheel and straight exhaust. Any ideas?

why do you not think it is the cps? Do you have a code reader handy? I had the same symptoms just before the cps crapped out on me. The jerks were split second like you mention. Once hard enough to knock off the cruise but not enough to shut me down.

You were right Tx Atty

I hooked my truck up this afternoon. Sure enough the one and only code, Camshaft Positioning Sensor! Looks like you were right after all. I ordered one and will get it Monday. Thanks for the help!

Good looking truck there, I like the color (same as my '00 350). I changed the CPS 3 times (as they say third times the charm) first two was the blue ones. They lasted about 2-3 weeks each. Then on the third got it from e-bay along with a new ICP sensor and haven't had a problem since (about 7 months now).
