Recently I had a problem with my truck that only under certian light load conditions, it would surge or buck just a little. Since this has happened to my truck I have spoken with several folks who have expressed similar problems with theirs.
I checked for codes, there were none, changed CPS no difference. I know this is going to sound strange, but it is a possibility that the injector plug under the valve cover could be the cause. I finally pulled the valve covers and inspected the plugs through the gasket, they were not loose and snapped properly in place. I figured they were not the problem either, but since the valve covers were already off and I had the parts from International to address the plug problem, I went ahead and installed them. Problem solved!
The repair clips from International part# 1844193C91 really don't look like much a tiny piece of plastic in a "T" shape that slides under the fingers of the clip. They do seem to tighten the clip just a little and maybe that is all they need at least International must think so.
