So up until this point Ive have 2 dodge diesels one was a 97 12v 3/4 ton(amazing on fuel) and the one Im trading today is an 06 common rail 1 ton. The truck im getting is an 09 F 350 Harley edition. I've been reading the posts on here and on some other sites and I'm starting to wonder if Im making the best choice as far as brand goes. The fuel mileage stories are scaring the crap out of me. Currently im getting 26mpg empty at 120 km/h and 18mpg pulling my 38 ft 14000# 5th wheel I have got 30mpg one trip but that was no wind cruise set dead on at 100kph. Also the truck will run the 1/4 in 13.9sec. Not unreal fast but quick enough for a 1 ton. The selling dealer has done some modifications to other customers trucks but all have been told no warranty after that. They are aware of the poor fuel milage with these trucks but they dont drive them you/we do. Do I bite the bullet and get a programmer and dpf delete? And risk loosing warranty? I would like to at least have as much power in the new one as the dodge had. Yes it was a 500hp/1000trq truck. Hard to go back to stock power levels . I do a lot of driving averaging 70000 km per year. Obviously, if fuel milage was my only concern I would be driving a Jetta, I do like the looks of the trucks, quiet ride, and the interiors are very well done as far as I can tell. And that is why I'll give the blue oval a shot
BTW window sticker on this truck in Canada is $78509 Crazy huh? And no I didn't pay that for it
Thanks Dave
