I am not a big fan of shimming the regulator,
I prefer to block off teh factory regulator, add an aeromotive one and route two return hose from each head to a regulator then return this un-used fuel back to the tank. it sure quietened my 7.3 and all but cured the idle knock

but shimming is easy and its low dollar to bump up the pressure of the fuel entering the heads.

the reg with hoses will run you about 200 smackers.

1. about $60
2. 3/4 ID hose by 7', 3/4 by 3/4 hose barb coupling, 4"OD pipe 3.5" long
3. We can probably handle supplying the washers for ya
4. Sonnax/Tric kit $50 shipped from blackclouddiesel.com plus a new tranny filter and 5-7 quarts of fluid.

We can do most or all of these at our next mod party.

Dumb Question.. What is the 4"OD pipe 3.5" long for ?

I thought we flipped the CCV toward the firewall and ran the hose out the back?

Where the CCV is connected to the inlet side of the turbo. There is an obstruction inside this piece that once removed increases airflow to the turbo.

If you just disconnected the ccv and left the peice in tact than you would have a 3/4id hole in your inlet tube that would be sucking unfiltered air into your motor.

You can get the Wicked Wheel and shift kit from Garret at blackclouddiesel.com I am also not a fan of shimming the regulator. Dennis at ITP has a GREAT regulated return kit out.

I think it's itpdiesel.com Dennis is great to work with.

Yep, here's the ITP LINK . I can't say enough about Dennis--I've bought quite a bit of stiff from him in the past and he's a stand-up guy to deal with.

Bob Riley @ DIESELSITE is another good fellow to deal with--he's also got a bunch of my business in the past and he's never led me wrong. He sells fuel system kits too.
