Paint type

What type of paint is our trucks painted with? I have a 2004 SD that is Dark Blue and I am sure it is a clear coat, but what type of paint is it?

i want to say DuPont, but im not sure dave. i know some of the stuff that i have had painted lately to match my truck, my painter has used DuPont.

it matches perfectly.

Dave, Base/ Clear is what I know it as. Base coat of color followed by several coats of clear. Other than that I'm not sure what the base consists of.

based on the label on my DUPONT can

its an acrylic enamel base coat
with an acrylic clear coat
pretty darn good stuff i might add

acrylic enamels are Flexible and tough.
