Psd Trek To Idaho

Abandoned the Peoples Republik of Ka. for Idaho.
Pulled a 16ft tandom axle trailer with stuff Van Lines would not touch, welding stuff, garden tractor, etc.
Figure about 5- 6K all up wt. for trailer, 1K for camper.
Gave that trailer a ride! Bro.was driving the Bronco, he was hard pressed to keep up in the hills.
Cruising at 75 thru Washington.
Never registered trailer in Ca. bought it and made my run for the border.
Bronco went dead in Couer D'Alene, distributer module. Left it at Ford hospital. fetched it later.
A great dealership.
EGT's went a little high a few times, turbo stall twice, back out, all is well.
All in all, a nice run. AND it is so nice up here, great people, no smog inspections, registration 1/3 of Ca.

Another escapee!!! We bailed on Ca about 3 years ago and don't regret it at all,it was getting quite expensive there.

The fraction cost of registration makes us grin each year,we went from around 800 a year Cali to $75 here in Texas

Glad to hear you trip went well and you've touched down in better lands

I am third generation but enough is enough. I was in the foothills, but was too cityfied.
The quality of life is much better here, plus prices are much lower.
Down to the Kootenai River Sun. it is about 70 - 100 yds wide, absolutly picture perfect. At the launch, seen one trailer, never seen a boat on the river!

Population of whole state is about 1.3 million.
How do you like the Texas summer? kinda toasty?
Been in the high 80's here. but winters are nippy.
Place I bought has a new 30X40 shop, am getting a slab poured with hydroponic heating, usable all year.

I too am a refugee from Ca. Been gone for over 6 years now. Dont miss it one bit. No real plans of visiting any time in the near future either. How far is Bonners Ferry (thats like BF Idaho right? ) from Sandpoint?

Glad your trip was safe and successful and I bet youre liking your new surroundings.

Texas summers I really like as I was raised in this climate,hot in the summer and a few cold winter days but the wife is trying to get used to the weather as she's a Cali native from Santa Rosa

The new shop sounds like it's gonna be sweet
