I was thinking the other that it'd be nice to have a visual indicator in addition to the beeper while backing up. Has anyone ever tried wiring a LED light back by the beeper? Is there any voltage back there, say in line with the beeper that a LED could be tapped in? Putting one or more LEDs in th little holes back there would be a nice mod.
Is getting to the beeper very complicated? Sometimes removing trim is a major project on its own.
Another backup sensor mod I was thinking would be nice is to have the stereo mute when the truck is in reverse (so you can hear the beeper :ZigBang: ) or have the beeper thru the speakers.
I know the stereo can be muted with a Hands free Cell phone kit but I'm not sure how that is acomplished (does it use volts or resistance)and if there is any voltage or resistance when the truck is placed in reverse.
For now the LED is what I want to look into.
