Anybody have any recommendations on a rear sway bar? I look at every SD I see going by and haven't seen one mounted on one yet. Better yet, does anyone feel one is required? I feel the rear end rolls a little more than I think it should. I do have an ARE cap on it though so it is adding a little weight and moving the CG up some.

i haven't seen one on 450 or smaller SD's but my 550 and my company's 450's and 550's all have them even are one 650 has one. they all look to be about a inch in diameter or maybe alittle bigger then that but they are large and might be over kill on a lighter duty truck.

My 03 Crew Cab Long Bed has one from the factory. It was part of the Camper Package. I also know that all dualies come standard with it. My truck seems pretty stable, but then again I haven't driven one without a sway bar either to compare it.

My 02 F-250 regular cab has one from the factory. I believe it was a stand alone option or as part of the camper option. I might also add that my truck has the off-road package, so it might have been a part of that package. I don't notice any roll in the back end, but I haven't really noticed any in the trucks I drove that didn't have one either. Probably wouldn't hurt to have it if you are carrying weight in the bed.

I'm after one for a little more stability when I tow my enclosed 14'er with a bunch of bikes in it and more importantly, our boat. I guess I'll check the dealer and see if I can buy a complete kit. Thanks for the input.

You might try a salvage yard. You could probably pick up a complete unit with hardware for 100 or less.... if you have a good yard near you.

I used one off a 96' HD 250. Almost the same, I just had to "slide" the fuel tank over 1/4" for clearance. BIG difference in the handling and the right price... FREE.:D
