Rear End Ratio

Can't seem to find the post anymore of how to decipher the tag on the rear end. Here is what mine says can anyone help? I'm thinking the ratio is 3.73 correct me if I am wrong.

L73 10 5 5C31

3.73 non slip Excursion or F-250. It is the last two numbers "31" that tell you.

the L stands for limited slip and having the 73, i would say it is 3.73 ratio...there should be a 3 above the L on the tag....the V 445 B, is the code that will tell you the same, (3:73 limited slip)in certain books or if you call the Ford dealer....

I just went thru this too. If you clean up the tag and look w/ some good lite you should hava a '3' above the L. that would indicate the limited slip 3.73 here is mine. LOOK CLOSE. i did not see the 3 and the L the first time..
