I have read a lot of threads about shimming the FPR and I do not understand it any better than before. I have read mixed reports of need/benefit.
I have not yet looked to see if my 97 350 has the bosche disk that would indicate it is the CA compliant model but will tonight. My truck was built in September of 97, which according to posts, should indicate it already has the upgraded FPR (I also havent hit it with the guage yet to see the pressure).
My question is, if that disk is there, do I already have split shot injectors and the upgraded FPR stuff so that shimming it is unnecessary? What will it tell me if the disk is NOT there?
Along with that, what would I want that pressure to be?
Yes, a lot of questions at once but thanks!
