stock radio backlight

Anyone else have issues with the stock radio head unit backlight going out? Not sure if there is a bulb out or just loose wires. Do I have to remove half of the dash to get the radio out so I can check the wire connections at the back of the radio?

Get a Ford Radio removal tool kit from a good stereo store and remove the radio. They are two U shaped wires that go into the radio's holes in the face plate. The holes are on the sides of the face plate. When you insert them about 1/2 inch, gently pull the handles of the tools outward and pull out the radio. No disassembly of the dash is needed.
