Superchips problem 1704-a

I bought this thing off ebay and when i try to program my truck it tells me the programmer needs to be updated. I called superchips and they tell me since im not the original owner then i have to pay 200 plus shipping. Does anyone have a better solution to get the programmer to work on my truck. I bough my truck about a month and half ago. from my local ford dealer. I also work for the same company that owns our ford store. Any suggestions would be helpfull

I would contact the ebay seller first. Sounds like something he should have been aware of. It may be why he sold it.

I already did that

He states he was unaware of that, he took it off his 04 f350 4X4 and stated
he returned it too stock. I called him and he said he would give me half my money and that i could keep the programmer..im lost i want to use the thing but im not going to pay 200 for the latest update from superchips. I dont know what to do, i guess i will byte the bulllllllllitttttt...damm-mad

take the money hes offering... and try and list the damn thing on ebay and tell the next guy it needs to be updated so he doesnt get screwed....
