My coworker has a 99.5 F250. He has told me that several time while driving down the highway, with or without a trailer, the truck will shut off. He drops to neutral, restarts, and goes about his way.

Any ideas?

He replaced the fuel filter, but no difference.

With all I have learned here, I'm stumped.

Thanks

Sounds like the CPS to me, but CLEAN the Batt cable clamps and posts.. 'til they SHINE.. and tighten them up real good first. Try that for a couple dayz.

He might wana R&R the CPS.. just because.

It sounds like the CPS, but if the truck has a chip in it he might want to pull the chip and clean the contacts as this can also cause it, and cleaning the contacts is free.
