I like the price better than the garret or the holset.

AKPSD- is this the aeroturbine in the other thread?

Never heard of them and of course don't know anyone using them - but they sound pretty decent. I'd give it a shot if I was in the market.

I'm pretty sure the aeroturbine they are talking about is the MUFFLER/EXHAUST

Oh ok, I didn't put 2 and 2 together, I had seen those before.

I need a new turbo anyway (bad turbine seal), so I saw these and it says they are serviceable unlike the garrett. Is the ball bearing really that special and why can't you service them?

Thanks for the imput-

I would look around more. You might find this turbo cheaper elsewhere

I know his price on the Garrett BB is ridiculously high.

Tom

On edit: There dyno results seem to be exaggerated (temps) I have a very similar set up (to the test truck) and I have never seen anywhere near the temps they are claiming for the Garrett. On the dyno or on the road. :dunno

FWIW.

Maby they are testing in the high heat of...........the sun!!!
In the summer in Texas my truck idles at 400 degrees and I think my max EGT was 1300 degrees.

Well Partner,

Where I live we have 15-20 days a year where the outside temp exceeds 110*. :dunno

I can hit 1400* if I want to, but not on a normal dyno run or on basic pulling (flat land/mild grades).

Steep hill pulling is another story.

But hey, What do I know.

I believe it's the same turbo sold by an E-bay vendor and High Tech Turbo. It's called a USA Turbo I think. I think a couple members at TDS run it but with stock injectors.

I also read where a set of Mini-me's made chunks of two exhaust wheels on the same truck. No pics ever substantiated the claims but that thread also revealed the three turbos are the same. Granted they have "360 thrust" cartridges that are rebuildable, but I still wouldn't want to push over 30 psi.

The BB and the H2E's are proven at high boost levels.

I would rather have my stocker rebuilt with a Bank's 1.00 Ex housing, my ATS compressor housing and throw in the WW that's on my shelf if I were to trying to save money.
