Help Needed Unusual Epson Scanner bevavior

When I go to scan a document,the scanner applies a vertical grayish band top to bottom of the document,any ideas on what would cause this?

I have never seen that behavior. I would try to re-install the scanner drivers. Check with the manufacture for the latest drivers.
