1) Just got an F350. On my '01 F150, the doors would lock automatically when the truck was put in Drive or Reverse - nice safety feature. The 350 is also an '01, but does not do this. Can it be programmed differently?

2) The 150 horn would alarm if a door was opened without the remote AFTER the doors were locked with the remote. The 350 does not do this, although the remotes are identical. Can it be reprogrammed to match the 150?

Thank you for anything you can offer. Great site.

Do you have the owners manual for the 350? The instructions on programming/deprogramming these features is in there. I dont know it off the top of my head but it involves cycling the key on and off a series of times while rubbing your tummy counter clockwise and saying the alphabet backwards at the same time.

mine does it and mike is right its in the owners manual.

Adding an alarm would be another way to give you this
feature.

I do not have an original manual, so do not have access to the information you mention. I downloaded something, but it is not comprehensive.
Thanks - will have to look for one.

Here is one that I found on the web for the '02 model. Page 64 is how to activate the autolock feature. I guess that is what the feature you are looking for is called.

good lord were almost neighbors.

word of advice...PUT AN ALARM ON THAT THING !

Deactivating/activating the autolock feature

Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is OFF and
all vehicle doors are closed.
You must complete steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will
have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must
wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will
chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long
chirp) if autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once to confirm the
procedure is complete.
