Water-In-Fuel light when turning right???

My Water-in-Fuel light started flickering when I'm making hard right turns (like on ramps to the interstate) . I just bought the truck 3 weeks ago and changed ALL fluids and filters the second day I owned it. This just started yesterday so I drained the seperator and only a small amount of fluid dripped out. Truck seems to run just fine. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Welcome to SDD.. But what year truck. Any Mods

Might be a drop of water in the bowl that didn't get drained off. You could remove the filter, drain the bowl, clean and dry it out, real good. Then run a ounce per gallon dose of Power Service Diesel Clean thru it. (WalMart)

I think I fixed it! I opened the separator drain while the engine was running (only for a few seconds) and after about 1/2 litre of fuel blew out I closed the drain. The water-in-fuel light hasn't come on all day and I've made several hard right (and left) turns today.

It's been 2 weeks and the "water-in-fuel" light is still not coming on except for a second when I start the truck to show the light works.
I guess losing that half liter of fuel was worth not having to remove and replace the filter. I got some oil and filters free as part of the deal to buy the truck so I didn't know what they cost. I priced them out last night at NAPA.....WOW!! Glad I didn't have to replace that fuel filter!

you will have to run the engine or open the fuel filter housing before it will drain well, otherwise there is a vacuum and the air does not flow in easily.

Fuel filters should be replaced on a regular basis between 10-15k miles is a reasonable number. When you compare the cost of filters to injectors, the filters are cheap. The local parts places are expensive for the filters if you can afford to buy a few at a time online is much cheaper, fleetfilter.com is a pretty reasonably priced site.
