Yikes!! Can't get the hood up

I tried to open my hood today but couldn't get it to budge.
After releasing the latch you push down to fully let go, but it won't move down.
Maybe I left something up there last time and it jammed, or perhaps my son sitting on it last night did it in, don't know. But I need to find a way to reach in there to let it go.

Anyone got a fix for this or had a similar experiance?

get a helper to push down on the front of the hood in the center while you pull the release.but be warned that this may dent the hood.

or look into the area between the hood lip and grill where the latch is.you may be able to squeeze a 1/4 drive socket and extension in ther to unbolt the latch.i believe the bolts are 10MM but they could be 13MM

Was able to snake a 10mm socket through there and loosen the latch, found that missing screwdriver up there!
