i am in agreeance w/ everyone...

cost is too high - $3.79 i saw days ago
writing politician - perhaps useless
this is not the end - only beginning = which is sad
and i too am looking at perhaps getting rid of 'red' OR parking it for a third vehicle

just a thought; fill up at half tank. i may have to start doing this.
ex: 29 gallons @ $3.75=$108.75 OR 14/15 gallons = $54/56

to me RIGHT NOW, FOR ME this is much more acceptable.

oh, and being jobless is a positive and negative...:sweet:dunno i am not spending anything by driving and i am not making anything either....:lmao:eek:

possible job on the hook tho...back into the trenches as a landscraper foreskin:doh:

I've been filling up at a half a tank for Years now. I know it's a Pay Me Now, Or Pay Me Later thing, but it's not such a Big Hit on the 'ol Wallet/Card or Pocket.

Works for Me :dunno

Is writing a politition is kinda like voting a wast of time ? Im not talking about one letter im talking a flood. Think about it if all the diesel sites got together and everybody just flooded there reps. The letters and emails would be in the tens of thousands plus everybody thay know would end up beeing in the millions.

JMO but I think they pay attention to the subject matter of letters and petitions, but this Oil (energy) thing is a WORLD problem/issue.. A FAR bigger thing than any >one<, or >group< of politicians can deal with, or do anything about. It would take an Economic Crisis, to the point of.. Civil Unrest, to where the [World] Media starts paying attention. Letters from the Little People don't do much. Media Attention will get ANY Politician, or Government moving.

A good question is: Why can't the US put a Cap on the price of Fuel ?? Let things stabilize, see what happens. The Oil Industry Could (and should).. Eat .. some of those record breaking MEGA profits for awhile (?).... and still be profitable (for the Stock Holders).

we cant cap it cause we dont OWN it...if we were allowed to
do some "local" exploration and drilling then maybe we'd be less
dependant on providers out of our reach !

too damm many tree huggers controlling where we can explore
and drill...hell we cant even drill off our own SHORES !

NO ONE should cap ANYONEs profits...Joe you own a biz ? if you do/did
would you want the gubermit stepping in and telling you how much
profit YOU could make ???

its a free market...our choice is drive less or invest in O&G companies !

Didn't mean Cap the profits BP. I meant Cap the Price, say at $?.xx, across the board.

There's a fine line between making a Reasonable, or even Very Good Profit... and Gouging. When an industry is Plainly making Huge Mega profits, profit margins NEVER before achieved..... While it's Consumers suffer ? There's something very, very wrong with that economic structure.

I, as just one of the "Little People", don't buy off on all the Smoke & Mirror reasons.. Propagandized to us.

But I absoluly agree that we we need to drive less and use Mass Transit more. Was in L.A. recently.... Could Not Believe the number of vehicles with just One Head showing.

sorry but capping the price isnt anything different then LIMITING the
profit...less profit...less jobs...less investment R&D etc.

im in houston...i see it...theres a whole lotta folks employed here now
that there were in the 80s...the foreclosures that are in texas are
NOT from unemployment (like in the mid 80s)..its from STUPID greedy
home buyers...theyre some of the same folks that are complaining
about the cost to fuel up their SUV's (that they 100% financed w/out
money in the bank)...some of the same ones that EXPECT you and i
to bail 'em out...cap their credit interest rates at 32% and the free loading
list goes on.

some will say the O&G companies have a monopoly on their offerings...
maybe...but one think i can be certain of...gubermint involvment wont
cure that (remember ma' bell....my phone bill is higher than its ever been
w/ more taxes on it than anyone could EVER have imagined)

im all for goin to odd / even days of filling up...since some cant seem
to cut back on their driving (professionals excluded)

I hear ya BP ;). We'd need a Jacket, a Flashlight and a Samich to get right with this.. cuz it'l get Cold, Dark and we'd get hungry fer the debate,nz over.:lmao :lmao

We've cut back our driving considerably. dawned on me that a trip to the Lumber or Parts house costs me 4 bucks, (17 miles r/t). I go Once every 10 days or so now, Gitr all at once. Wife stocks up on eats once a month and stops on her way home for perishables. NO unnessasary trips, that kinda thing.

'bout all a body kin do I guess. :dunno

Lookn forward to wifey retireing too. 125 miles a week, 20 MPGs.. Adds up @ 4 bucks per.
