Automatic Headlights

This question is totally because I'm lazy, no other excuse. I have the automatic headlights that come on once it starts getting back. Is it possible to bypass the ambient light sensor so the headlights come on with the ignition when the switch is in the auto position. I like to drive with my headlights on all the time but it seems like such a hassle to actually turn the switch on and off all the time. I don't want the daytime running lights because I do want to be able to turn them off at times.

Here's a solution for you if it's not too much work

The headlight sensor is on the center of the dash, up by the windshield. It is the little black dome shaped thing.

Just put some electrical tape over it.

Electrical tape over the sensor doesn't seem to work.

On mine, I can cover the sensor with a towel and the auto headlights will come on after about 30 seconds. And when I remove the towel they will go off after about 30 seconds.

same here. it takes a bit for it to react for some reason, but it does work.

I also placed a black cap from a quart oil bottle,the dash cover holds it in place at least with my truck.

I guess my first attempt I didn't get the whole sensor covered like I thought I did. Seems to have worked this time.
