Do you guys think this would work?

I want to pull all but two or three leaves out of the rear spring packs and use airbags to carry the load.

This would do two things:

1) I would have the ability to lower the PSI in the bags and make the truck comfortable to drive around in on a day to day basis.

2) I would have the ability to lower the rear of the truck down, back under my trailer then add air to the bags lifting the rear of the truck. Doing this would keep me from having to jack the trailer up or down. I got spoiled doing this while driving big rigs.

Do you guys think keeping two leaves on each side would be enough support to keep the axle from moving side to side? How about axle wrap? Do you think it would be horrific?

Axle wrap will be your next big problem. You will need to add control arms. The airbag idea is a good one.

Just get the parts from a f650 with air ride. It's a bolt on system. I have looked into it and thats the fastest setup and EZest way to go.
