Died in the middle of the road - no warning

Looks like the CPS died, make sure to carry one with you.

Had no place to get off the 3 lane road before it rolled to a stop.

Found one on the web for 49.99, dealer wants $165.

Just took a 10mm socket with a 3-in extension. I needed a few more joints
in my arms to make it easy..

whats the cps? what year truck?

It is a Cam Position Sensor and it does not apply to 6.0 engines, but it is a necessary spare part for all 7.3 PSD's.

I second the CPS diagnosis. My 01 did that to me with 1,000 miles on it. Fortunately, mine restarted and ran long enough to get around the corner to where the dealer was. They replaced it and never had another problem with it...ever!

it was the first item I bought for the 01 even before I got guages and other things. I don't want to get stuck along side the road.
