FWIW ? I went out and tugged on mine, cold. It had a drag to it.. but no "feel" of anything. Started it.. made it's normal Whirring noise, 'bout 2 blocks away.. it disengaged.

Got home.. it turns freely, with no drag.. doesn't "Spin"... but maybe a 1/4th of a rev.

New fan installed today. I was towing a mini-x this morning and it started making a horrible grinding noise. Mechanic came out to the job site, pulled the shroud and had the fan clutch replaced in about 20 minutes.

The clutch was $288 and $85 for labor. The peace of mind is priceless.
