Have a 2k, F350, 4x4, auto, diesel, gauges.

Going on a 1500 mile trip towing 10k TT and would like to have a tow
chip, actually a Wildman 4 position chip but this deals just with the towing.

I would like to just install the chip before the trip and do the intake
and exhaust later. Think this would be OK if I keep an eye on the EGT?

Exhaust first...IMHO
You want to lower your EGTs for your trip...right?

Never had issues with high EGT... Might with the chip though...

Would I have issues with too high EGT with just the chip in tow mode? I
may not have the $$ for everything before the trip.

yes you can
what exhaust are you running? stck, 3.5 or 4"
stock muffler in place?

even in a tow mode with my 02 and running the diablo i could very easily redline egts if not paying attention nwhile towing our lil 10k travle travel trailer

Yes, I do think you'll be OK if you keep an eye on the EGT'S. You can probably get the EGT's to high with no chip while towing a 10K TT if you lug it and dont keep an eye on the EGT's. The key is to not lug it, if you see the EGT's beginning to climb get it out of OD and get your REV's up.

You can tow with the chip IF you have gauges and drive by them. Watch your temps and you'll be fine.

All stock now except for some minor stuff like gauges, poon, in-tank, and
pre-pump. Nothing that would change intake or exhaust.

Thanks for the input everyone!! It was what I was thinking, but other
input s nice to verify.

Auto trans is hard to lug normally, but with a chip it may hold longer- thx!

I guess worst case would be that I would have to pull the chip and go back
to stock...

Plan on getting the exhaust/ intake as soon as funds fall in my pocket...

Thx again!
