Does it crank over good? Weak batteries can cause no-start. Even if it turns over there may not be enough left to run the engine electronics.

Any smoke when you crank it? Currently 50º at your location but there was a low of 30º last night. If you get white smoke when trying to start at 30º it could be the GPR or Glow plugs.

Does the tach move when you crank it? If not it could be the CPS.

If the tach doesn't move and the engine is turning over good then chances are it is the CPS.

Don't pay more than $30 for one. They might try and sell you a expensive one since you have a 94' but don't fall for it. Tell them you want one for a 97' and then pack the connector full of dielectric grease.

If it doesn't turn over at all and you have no WTS light, check all of the battery/ground connections. Corrosion is terrible on these things. That is where I would start..
