Rough start after new GPR and Oil Temp Sensor

My truck has started for the past six weeks after 1-2 seconds of cranking in 0 to 40 degrees F weather. About a week ago it began taking 5 - 15 seconds of cranking to start so I replaced the Glow Plug Relay and the Oil Temperature Sensor. It still takes 5 - 15 seconds to start. In fact last night, and this not unusual, I drove it for two hours at 70 MPH, purring like a kitten, turned it off for two minutes, turned the key until the WTS light was on and left the key in that position for 30 seconds. It took 10 seconds of cranking to start it. It seem Glow Plugs are called for, but it also seems that something else must be going on. My engine should have been hot and started easily after that much driving.

....How old is the motor oil. Also have you tried unplugging the ICP when re starting it when warm?

The motor oil is about 4 weeks old on 4000 miles. I will change it very soon.

What is the ICP?
Injector pressure control. It is on the left head right next to the lifting ring. When you unplug it , the PCM sends full pressure to the Injectors. If it starts you may need an icp sensor Or the the IPR has some junk in it,,, Clean the IPR first,Change the ICP if nessesary...

IPR

Every picture I get on this is for a different model of truck and
none of the electronic sensor look like mine, and they are in
different locations (Significant parts were replaced and moved a year ago in
this area on my truck). In the attached picture I disconnected A) and
it started the same and the Check Engine light came on. I
disconnected B) and it started like is used to, in 1-2 seconds! From sensor B) there
is a 1/4 metal pipe that leads down into the engine somewhere. If
that is the IPC the forums are telling me I need to clean or replace
the IPR. I think it is time to go to mechanic cause I don't have the
time. Is B) the IPC and am I on the right track?

I can't see your labels in the picture, so going from left to right on your labels:
1) Exhaust Back Pressure (EBP) sensor
2) Oil Pressure Switch (for the "idiot" gauge on dash)
3) Injector Pressure Regulator (IPR) valve
4) Injector Pressure Control (ICP) sensor
5) A/C High Pressure Cutout Switch

Yes, that helps (thanks alot)... but I still don't have it narrowed down. Do these test tell you anything?

The engine was 35 degrees F for 8 hours.

EBP disconnected, ICP connected Engine starts pretty easily
1 minute later
EBP connected, ICP disconnected Engine starts less easily
1 minute later
EBP connected, ICP connected Engine starts least easily


When the engine was at operating Temp (between N and O) on gague
EBP disconnected, ICP connected Engine starts easily
1 minute later
EBP connected, ICP connected Engine starts after 10 seconds


Any insights?

If this is a dirty IPR valvue, then it doesn't look to me like the drawing I have attached is for my truck. Can you comment?

Where are you? Maybe someone close with a scan tool can help you, that way you don't just throw parts at it.

I would say it's prolly the ICP sensor or IPR valve but sensors aren't returnable and I would much rather know what the HPOP pressure is during cranking. You could also do that with a mechanical gauge with the proper rating tied into the HPO rails.

The Icp sensor is much cheaper than the IPR.. you can clean the IPR if you wish,,
