Update...

Today I was able to go to the dealer (intending on buying a set of glow plugs). I walked into service to ask about troubleshooting the glow plug relay and was explaining the problem when a mechanic who was eating his lunch overheard the symptoms. He asked if the truck was there and offered to take a look.

He popped off the rubber cover on the positive lead of the relay and saw some discoloration and said it was bad. He said the relay is the more common thing to go out vs. the plugs.

I saved $30 over the plugs and it took 10 minutes to change so we will see in the morning if it really was the problem. ;tu

THanks BJS, are those o-rings in the fuel filter assembly? I will look into that blocked tube.

The are between the fuel filter assembly and the fuel filter drain valve (yellow thing on the passenger's side) A couple torx bolts hold it down if memory serves me right.
