Tow/Haul Light

Some time ago my tow/haul light stopped coming on when I hit the button. I figured it was just a burned out bulb since the mode seems to work as it always had. However, I put the dash in test mode the other day (holding the odo button while turning the key) and to my surprise the Tow/Haul light lit up!

What could be causing it not to light up when I'm using the mode? Is this an indication of something wrong with the tow/haul function?

you can check if its hooked up all the way. my tow haul button just took a crap one day while towing. went to ford and replaced it. i did notice that the plug is very small and can break easy. my plug clip was broken also. but to let you know mine did what yours is doing right before it didnt work anymore. the trucks transmission would be in tow haul but the light wouldnt.

you got to remove the upper and lower plastics on your steering col. its a little black plug on top of the col towards the left hand side. just see if its in all the way.
