Does anyone know where the trans temp sensor that feeds data to the PCM is located?

I picked up an Edge Insight CTS and was monitoring my trans temp while towing my skid steer home today. At one point, it was reading 200 while my analog gauge (which has the sensor in the test port) was reading 170.

Now I'm wondering which one is correct. My analog gauge has never been to 200 before. In fact, 190 was the hottest it has ever shown. Outside air temp was 40-45 degrees while driving home.

In other news, my homemade trans cooler fans actually work. They dropped the temp from 200 to 185 (on the Insight anyway, the analog didn't budge) in a matter of minutes.

Thanks

It is located inside the transmission (of course). I had mine go out in my 2003 and it would redline after about 5 min of driving. I had a shop replace mine. The shop said mine wasn't the first one they had replaced. I guess they are prone to short out and give an inaccurate reading.
