I just picked up a camper and I am approaching the weight limit of my tires.

My current tires are 315/75R16 Coopers but they are only rated for 3,200@50. I found that Nitto makes a Mud Grappler 35x12.50R16's that are rated for 3,750@65 and Toyo makes a Open Country MT 315/75R16 that are rated at 3,860@65. I am sure you know but 315/75R16 is the same basic size as 35x12.50R16 so we are comparing apples to apples here. I believe geonc runs Nitto's? Anyone else? Any other 35" tires out there that have a higher rating?

Right now I am at about 4,700 on the front and 5,800 on the rear so I am OK(if you don't look at the GVW sticker)but once I add passengers and a bunch of gear I will be approaching the 6,400 limit on the rear tires. Doesn't take much to add 600 lbs of people, food, water and supplies. If I got the Toyo's I could haul 1,320 lbs more than I can on the Coopers.

Any recommendations on tire choices?

well how much do you wanna stay away from road noise? the nitto mud grapplers will howl at almost any speed. got a guy at work runnin them they stop in the rain purty good but you can hear him comin a block away. suprisingly the toyo open mud are quiet tire for how aggressive they are and one of the most popular tire in the market right now. so either one are a good choice

I am leaning toward the Toyo for the extra 110 pounds but noise is not a issue. I run a straight exhaust and open intake so she already makes a little noise, what is a little more ;)

We have the Toyo open country on our 93 F350, and I think it is the best tire we have every had. It is quiet, long lasting tread, and grips very well.

Yes they are a little expensive, but they are a great tire. Our 93 is a dually "six tires", but I have always felt that it is very important to have good quality tires for safety reasons.
